She earned her medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in 1999. She continued her training with an internal medicine residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI, followed by a rheumatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
After training at Mayo Clinic, she returned to the Black Hills where she spent five years as a Rheumatologist at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, followed by six years at the Aspen Center. She will join Emily Huntley, PA-C at the Rapid City Medical Center at the Mt. Rushmore location in August. She is the past president of Black Hills District Medical Society, served as Counselor to the State Medical Association, and currently appointed to the State Board of Medical Examiners.
“I am excited for this new chapter in my practice and working with an excellent team, supported by a great organization,” Dr. May says.
